Why I Built Kidworthy
A parent's frustration, turned into something (hopefully) useful.
If you've ever tried to plan a family trip, you know the drill: hours of Googling, sifting through reviews written by adults without kids, Pinterest boards full of beautiful places that would be a nightmare with a toddler, and scattered blog posts that may or may not be up to date.
I built Kidworthy because I was tired of it. Every trip with my kids started with the same frustrating research cycle — and I kept thinking: there should be a better way to find places that actually work for families.
The idea is simple: a Wirecutter for kid-friendly travel. Not just pretty lists of “top 10 things to do,” but genuinely useful, honest recommendations. Places we'd actually take our own kids. Advice about what ages each place works for. Warnings about common parent frustrations. Skip lists with real rationale — not everything famous is worth the stroller battle.
Every place in our guides is carefully researched — but we're not going to pretend we've personally tested every single one with our own kids. That's where you come in. We need parents like you to tell us what works, what doesn't, and what we're missing. The more families share their experiences, the better this gets for everyone.
We're just getting started. The AI trip planner is in early testing, and we're adding new cities regularly. If this is helpful to you — or if you spot something wrong, or have ideas for making it better — please reach out. This only works if real parents help shape it.

What We Believe
Honest Over Fancy
We skip the Instagram-bait and focus on what actually works when you have kids in tow.
Age Matters
A great place for a 10-year-old can be a disaster with a 2-year-old. We always tell you the difference.
Skip Lists Are Kind
Saving you from a bad experience is just as valuable as recommending a good one.
Built With Parents
We research, you tell us what actually works. The more families share feedback, the better this gets for everyone.
